Why I Turn Insects Into Jewelry
People often ask me the same question when they see my work for the first time: “Why insects?”
For many, insects are small creatures hidden in gardens, forests, or summer nights. Some people fear them, while others barely notice them at all. But to me, insects are living masterpieces — tiny works of art created by nature itself.
My journey began when I was a child. I used to spend hours outdoors watching beetles crawl across tree bark, butterflies resting on flowers, and dragonflies reflecting sunlight like stained glass. I was fascinated by their colors, textures, and delicate structures. Every insect looked like it belonged in a fantasy world. As I grew older, I realized that most people never stopped long enough to truly appreciate their beauty.

That realization inspired me to create insect jewelry.
Through my work, I want to transform the way people see these creatures. A beetle is no longer just a bug; it becomes a symbol of strength and resilience. A moth represents mystery and transformation. A butterfly reminds us of freedom and change. When these forms are turned into wearable art, people begin to notice details they would otherwise ignore — the metallic shine of wings, the elegant symmetry of legs, the incredible patterns hidden in nature.

I also believe jewelry should tell a story. Fast fashion often feels temporary and forgettable, but handmade insect brooches carry emotion and individuality. Each piece I create is carefully designed to preserve the spirit of the insect while adding artistic expression. Some designs are bold and dramatic, while others are soft and delicate, but every piece is meant to spark curiosity and conversation.

Many people who wear my jewelry tell me it makes them feel unique. That means everything to me. Insects are unlike anything else in the natural world — strange, beautiful, and endlessly diverse. I think humans are the same way. We all have unusual qualities that deserve to be celebrated rather than hidden.

Turning insects into jewelry is not about decoration alone. It is about appreciation, storytelling, and connection to nature. In a world where people move too quickly and overlook small details, I hope my creations encourage others to slow down and rediscover wonder in unexpected places.

Because sometimes the smallest creatures can inspire the biggest emotions.
